Another almost complete room

Our shower is complete except for a door/curtain! After watching one too many home improvement shows, I decided I wanted subway tile in our shower. I've never tiled before so I had no idea how time consuming it was going to be! I was definitely surprised! I was able to get about half way finished, but because of time, we had a friend come over and help finish it.

An Almost Complete Kitchen

Looking into the kitchen

Awesome sliding shelves in pantry

Sliding spice rack

Glass Cabinet

Our farmhouse sink...Thanks Ween for flying it out for us :)The dishwasher will have a custom panel like the cabinets.

Pot and Pan drawers. They are huge!

Rubbish and Recycling, plus the wine rack!

The bar...and beautiful flowers from Rush :)

If you know me, you would know the kitchen remodel has been the most important to me. I love spending time cooking and baking! Plus, it always seems like people end up hanging around in the kitchen during get-togethers. Our kitchen is definitely small, but with the design and layout it doesn't seem so tiny. It opens up directly to the living room and built in bench kitchen nook. (Rush is currently painting the bench so I'll post pictures when it's complete)

Sneak Peek -- Bathroom

Yesterday was a big day for us! Every time we walk in the house and look around, you can definitely see all the changes and start seeing an almost finished home. This renovation has kept us very busy, but we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. This weekend we will be finishing up our bathroom but here is a sneak peak of what was installed yesterday.

BEFORE and AFTER:

The first vanity came with the house so we knew we were definitely getting rid of that! Once I learned how to really use power tools, I decided I wanted to start building furniture. Thanks to www.ana-white.com, I built the vanity bottom. The only problem after that was trying to figure out what to put on top! Luckily, our friend Josh that did our amazing concrete countertops (www.concreteperspectives.com) came to the rescue. Once the bathroom is complete I'll post the final pictures.

The long awaited Chocolate Chip Banana Pancakes

For those of you that know Rush, you understand his need for chocolate chip banana pancakes. Of course it has been a little difficult to have a big variety of meals because of the house being renovated. This past weekend we finally were able to put boxes away and use our range! Rush couldn't wait for his pancakes!

New Progress

Our rustic header finished by Rush from old redwood pieces purchased at Re-Use Hawaii

Newly painted wall

Hallway is complete!

The kitchen! Obviously not complete but a lot of progress was made in the last two days

The range installed! If you look at the pantry, you can see I'm finally putting stuff away!
For those of you that are keeping up with our renovations, we are finally making progress! Our bedroom has been completed except for closet doors, the guest room is waiting on a little trim work, our living room needs a few painted walls and furniture, and the kitchen is waiting on a few more doors! The list seems to be getting smaller and smaller. For all of our friends and family that want to see the new progress, I've attached some photos. The house is a disaster so as things get cleaner, I'll post more pictures!

This 4 day weekend has really given us time to get things done.  We have even had time for a surf or run which makes us much happier! Check out the photos above/below of our new progress!

Turkey Day 2010

The day started off amazing and kept getting better! I somehow talked Rush into doing our own little turkey trot! Of course I didn't tell him we would be running for about 5 miles so after mile 3 I think he was ready to be done, but he stuck it out! After returning from our run, we were able to get our new range installed and hooked up only to find we were out of propane. Oh well, at least it looks nice in the kitchen!

This is our third Thanksgiving on island and our first together being married. Rush was flying last year so it was really nice to have him home this year. We always go to our friends house (Burt and Laura) and enjoyed the day surfing and eating. It was a beautiful day and we were so lucky to be with good friends. Here are a few pictures from the day!

City Museum

During our visit to St. Louis, we decided to check out a museum that everyone we talked to loved. The City Museum was by far the most incredible place we have been to in a long time! You could touch, crawl, climb or anything else you could imagine doing at this place. After climbing into the first hole, I lost Rush. About 10 minutes later he came out smiling like a little kid! I speak for both of us when I say we can't wait to go back!

Self explanatory!

We knew right away this place would be fun!

And then he disappeared...

Crawling around

Will he make it?

He does! Think small!

Happy Halloween!

The pumpkin we carved!

This past week was a blast!  I arrived on Friday in St Louis and Rush and I left for Oklahoma. We had a quick, but really nice weekend with his family.

It was just like old times for me this week. We were back living with Kenny, Hannah and Evan! The week went by too quickly, like they always do, but we had a great time. On Saturday we celebrated Kenny's birthday by having a nice dinner in St Louis. We started the night early and made it count! The bottom picture is from the Irish Pub we went to after dinner. I think it was probably after the Irish Car Bombs :)

Our other celebration for the weekend was our Anniversary. A year ago today, we were getting our costumes ready! I can't believe a year went by so quickly. I'm so happy we actually were able to spend part of the day together! Happy Anniversary Baby!

Back to the East Coast

After a long trip, I made it back to Delaware. The sunrise out of Minneapolis was really pretty, although not as nice as our sunsets at home! Today was my first day back to work and it started out really well...reading the newspaper and drinking coffee! I'm off to fly tomorrow and then heading out to see Rush and The Weens! I can't wait!
I think tomorrows flight will be really fun. It's my favorite time of year because the leaves are just starting to change. Check back soon for pictures!
